Toby Bloom

Toby Bloom is currently director of informatics for the Genome Sequencing platform at the Broad Institute. She is responsible for managing all software development for high-throughput genome sequencing operations. She earned her Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After receiving her degree, Toby served as a research scientist at the MIT Laboratory for computer science for four years. Prior to joining the Whitehead Institute/MIT Center for Genome Research in 2001, now part of the Broad Institute, she spent 15 years in various capacities in the software development industry. Her previous position was chief technology officer at Clinsoft Corporation, a provider of clinical data management and pharmacovigilance software.
