Magnaporthe grisea Release 2.3 Details

We have modified our Gene Naming guidelines to match new naming guidelines from NCBI. In order to meet these new guidelines, we have modified the names of 649 genes.
All 11,109 Magnaporthe genes in release 2.3 have been assigned version 4, including those loci whose names were not modified.
Additionally, 35 of our previously called genes were found to be invalid due to internal stop codons. 33 of these loci were replaced by a valid gene prediction at the same location, based on either Fgenesh+ (24 cases) or on Fgenesh (11 cases). 2 genes (loci MG01880.3 & MG08364.3) were deleted, having no valid gene prediction at that location. 2 loci each contained 2 non-overlapping valid gene predictions, so 2 new genes (loci MG11112.4 & MG11113.4) were added to the putative gene set.
