What's New?

December 5, 2006    SNP sequences available

Release of the 10,495 SNPs we identified between our PH-1 assembly and the GZ3639 sequencing reads (Syngenta sequence).

April 21, 2005

Release of 24,072 shotgun sequence reads generated by Syngenta AG for Fusarium graminearum strain GZ3639 = NRRL 29169. These reads represent ~0.4X coverage of the Fusarium graminearum genome.

April 13, 2005

Release of 24,387 EST sequences generated from two cDNA libraries constructed by Jin-Rong Xu at Purdue University. One library is from Fusarium graminearum grown in complete media; and the other is from Fusarium graminearum grown under carbon-starved conditions.

April 13, 2004    Updated genetic map available

The Gale and Kistler genetic map has been updated, now anchoring 99.6% of the assembly via the placement of 162 markers with sequence. More information on this map can be found on the map description page.

April 12, 2004    "Short" genes available for download

By request, "short" genes previously excluded by size (<100 aa) and lack of homology, are now available for download.

October 3, 2003    Release 2

May 1, 2003    Release 1

The initial release of our high quality draft sequence of the Fusarium graminearum genome (accession AACM00000000).

This initial release allows:

  • Downloads of the consensus sequence of the assembly
  • BLAST searches against the genome
  • Download file listing large insert clones (BACs and Fosmids) in the assembly

Assembly 1 Sequencing Facts

  • ~10X genomic coverage
  • 36 Mb total length of combined contigs (36,093,143 bp)
  • 511 contigs longer than 2 kb
  • 43 supercontigs (scaffolds)
  • 71 kb average contig length (range 2-494 kb)
  • 338 kb average supercontig length (range 3-8822 kb)
  • 147 kb contig N50 (average base lies in a contig of length >= 147 kb)
  • 5.36 Mb supercontig N50 (average base lies in a supercontig of length >= 5.36 Mb)
