Protein-coding gene predictions overlapping Ribosomal gene coding regions flagged
The loci for the following protein-coding gene predictions have been flagged due to the fact that they overlap regions of genome predicted to contain ribosomal RNA genes. They have been flagged as "overlaps ribosomal RNA region" on the Gene Details reports and have been segregated into separate files in the Downloads page and on the BLAST page.

Magnaporthe grisea sequence release 5.0 represents both a new assembly incorporating the results of an automated gap filling process as well as automated annotation (gene set version 5.0). The gap-filling process used is the first stage of producing a finished M. grisea genome sequence. This work has reduced the number of contigs from 2273 to 739, and contributed approximately 1.5 Mb of new sequence to the assembly compared to version 2.0.
Gene set version 5.0 represents an increase of 1,732 genes compared to the previous release, along with an increase in the accuracy from 83% (MG2.4) to 89% (MG5.5). For detailed summary of the changes to the gene set, see gene finding report. A file listing the changes between version 4 and version 5 can be found at: magnaporthe_grisea5_to_mg2_mapping.csv
This release of this assembly and corresponding annotations includes:
- A predicted protein gene set (12,841 genes).
- BLAST databases for the entire assembly, as well as individal gene and protein predictions
- Precomputed results of BlastX and HMMer Analyses
- Optical map of Mangaporthe grisea and the correlations with the genetic and physical maps
- Alternative proteins predicted by various gene callers (Genewise, FgeneSH,FgeneSH+, GeneID)
- tRNA predictions
- Search and visualizations for all the features
- Search and download a particular region of the genome assembly
- Downloads of the consensus sequence and additional files for the genome assembly and gene predictions
- Links between gene predictions published in previous releases

Gene names were updated to reflect the latest guidelines from NCBI. Changes were made to the invalid gene calls that had internal stop codons. If possible, the structure of these genes have been modified to reflect a valid gene prediction, otherwise, the gene prediction was removed. 2 gene predictions were also added to our putative gene set. See Release 2.3 Details for more information.
