How can I receive an application?
You may download an application or request that an application be mailed to you.

When is the application deadline?
Applications with a final postmark deadline of April 15, 2008 will be reviewed on a rolling basis. You are encouraged to apply early.

When does the program begin and end?
The program begins in early June and ends in early August.

Is housing provided for students?
Yes. Paid housing accommodations are provided in a dormitory on MIT's campus.

Who is eligible to apply?
The program is open to underrepresented minorities as stipulated by our funding source NHGRI. Participants must be African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans (including Alaska Natives), or natives of the Pacific US Territories.

Do students receive compensation?
Yes. MIT pays for the round trip airfare to and from Cambridge and housing, and all students receive a stipend of $4000.00.

How are research projects assigned?
Research projects are assigned based on the research interests, skill sets, and level of experience of each student.

How will I know that I’ve been accepted into the program?
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by email as decisions are made.
