Genome Sequencing and Analysis

The primary focus of the Genome Sequencing and Analysis program is to understand the structure, function and evolution of genomes. This requires characterizing genomes at the level of genes, regulatory sequences, non-coding transcripts and structural elements. We use comparative genomics to identify the principles that shape human biology, as well as that of closely related species and model organisms. Our analysis will lay the foundation for human functional genomic and genetics work to enable the development of diagnostics, therapeutics and preventative medicine.
